Certification with West Coast Institute For Gestalt Therapy With Children And Adolescents (WCI)
About Certification Programme
West Coast Institute is a premier training institute in US, founded to further the therapeutic approach in Gestalt Play Therapy as initially developed by Violet Oaklander. Located in West Coast of California and the Santa Ynez Valley, the programmes are designed to leverage on creative and playful therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents, the support systems and community advocacy for their healthy growth and development.
WCI offers a certification programme which promotes the focused study and responsible practice of Gestalt theory and psychotherapy in clinical work with children and adolescents. Tembusu Training and Therapy is a WCI approved training institute in SE Asia, offering training and supervision which can count troward completion of the WCI certification requriements.
The certification programme is a self-paced and will require the demonstration of competence with both theory and clinical work by meeting the standard requirements. Upon completion, the applicant will receive a certificate from the West Coast Institute designating the clinician as a Certified Gestalt Therapist with Children and Adolescents. Licensed (USA) / Certificated (International) professionals can enter into this programme through the West Coast Institute.

Our Certified Therapists
The following are certified professionals who successfully completed their certification under mentorship by Tembusu Training and Therapy:
Lee Sock Kuan (Singapore), is a Registered Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor with Singapore Association of Counsellors. She has been working with children, couples, and families in a community setting and a private practice after completing her Masters in Counselling at Edith Cowan University. Besides her clinical practice, Sock Kuan also supervises and trains therapists, social workers and volunteers. She is also a Certified Practitioner in Therapeutic Play Skills with Play Therapy
Ng Sook Wai (Singapore) is a Registered Clinical Supervisor and Counsellor with Singapore Association for Counseling and Association of Play Therapy (Singapore). Sook Wai currently heads the Therapy & Psychological Services Unit which she started in 2021. Sook Wai received her Masters in Counseling from Edith Cowan University and is a Certified Practitioner in Therapeutic Play Skills with Play Therapy International.
Debbie Chen-Lin (Singapore) holds a Master of Arts in Counselling from Singapore Bible College and received a clinical award in Child Therapy at her graduation. She is a Registered Counselor with the Singapore Association for Counselling, a Professional Member of the Association for Play Therapy (Singapore) and a Member of EMDR Singapore. As a counselor in private practice, her interest areas include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, debriefing of cross-cultural workers & expatriates, pre-marital preparation, marital enrichment & parenthood coaching from a growth perspective.
Gladys Hu (Singapore) is a Registered Play Therapist with the Association for Play Therapy (Singapore) and a Registered Social Worker with the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW). She is also registered with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC), a member of EMDR Singapore, and holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Clinical and Casework Supervision. Currently in private practice in Singapore, Gladys is passionate about addressing trauma, nurturing young people, and empowering individuals to live out their fullest potential.
