In 2016, Tembusu started running workshops and trainings for therapists, counsellors, social workers, psychologists and other mental health practitioners. We were actively involved in supporting the growing group of committed professionals as we believe we are a better community, together.
Our trainings and supervision aim to equip the professionals with a wider range of skills and techniques to work with children, young persons and families. By investing in our mental health professionals, they are empowered so to meet the needs of their clients more effectively and therapeutically.
Our children and families are facing increasingly complexities in their lives. It's our belief that every child and young person have the the inner resources, personal strengths and resilience to thrive regardless of their circumstances and challenges. When they feel connected and understood, they are better abled to explore their feelings and to make sense of their challenging and confusing life experiences. We connect with them on their terms - whether through play, creative or talk therapy - so that they will be empowered for growth, inner healing and a better way of being in the world. The process may be paced, it is intentional. Working closely with supportive parents and families, we can see transformed lives.
