Come and experience the magic of Play Therapy in this one day introduction workshop. In this workshop, you will be introduced to the principles and clinical skills of Gestalt Play Therapy first established by Violet Oaklander, author of Windows to Our Children: A Gestalt Approach to Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy (1989) and Hidden Treasure: A Map to the Child's Inner Self (2007). Grounded on the Gestalt approach, Gestalt Play Therapy emphasizes the importance of connection and relationship with our children or adolescents to support them to empowered choices and responses to their challenges. Conducted online, you will explore the use of play to build therapeutic connection with children and adolescents through experiential activities and small group discussions.

About the Trainer
Lee Sock Kuan has been working with children, couples and families for over 15 years after completing her Masters in Counselling at Edith Cowan University. Besides counselling and psychology course, she has received specialized training in Play Therapy, Gestalt Play Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Sandplay Therapy, art facilitation, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family Therapy and Emotional-Focused Therapy.
She has recently completed her certification as Gestalt Therapist with Children and Adolescents with West Coast Institute. As the first to receive her certification in SE Asia region, Sock Kuan is excited to further her work with children and their families on coping with stress, attachment, challenging behaviour and loss issues in the Gestalt approach.
In addition to her clinical practice, Sock Kuan also supervises and train therapists, social workers and volunteers. She is a registered Clinical Member and Clinical Supervisor of the Singapore Association for Counselling as well as a Certified Practitioner in Therapeutic Play Skills with Play Therapy International.
